Sentai Filmworks has recently revealed an English-dubbed trailer for their upcoming Blu-ray release of the original video anime adaptation of popular yuri manga Kase-san and Morning Glories (Asagao to Kase-san). Check it out below!
The OVA’s English dub cast features Morgan Berry as Tomoka Kase (Tsushima Yoshiko in the English-dubbed Love Live! Sunshine!) and Bryn Apprill (Christa Lenz/Historia Reiss in the English-dubbed Attack on Titan) as Yui Yamada. The trailer also revealed the other cast, listed below:
• Apphia Yu as Mikawa
• Shelley Calene-Black as Yamada’s Mother
• Luci Christian as Teacher
• Patricia Duran as Coach
The English dub is directed by David Wald, with Marissa Lenti writing the ADR script. Other cast members are Elissa Cuellar, Karlii Hoch, Ty Mahany, Melissa Molano, Holly Segarra, Avery Smithhart, Olivia Swasey, Cat Thomas, David Wald, and Sarah Wiedenheft.
Sentai Filmworks is set to release the Kase-san and Morning Glories Complete Collection Blu-ray Disc on October 22 in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal.
The Kase-san and Morning Glories OVA was first released in Japan in June 2018. The OVA was directed by Takuya Sato (Girls Beyond the Wasteland), with Kyuta Sakai (Re:ZERO: – Starting Life in Another World- as animation director. Kazuyuki Hashimoto (Cowboy Bebop) is art director, with rionos credited for the music.
Kase-san and… is written by Hiromi Takashima and was serialized in Shinshokan’s Hirari magazine from 2010 to 2017, with the English license for the series being handled by Seven Seas Entertainment. It tells the story of the timid, flower-loving Yui Yamada who falls for her senpai and her school’s track and field star, the boyish and exuberant Tomoka Kase. The manga’s five volumes (so far) explore the gradual blossoming of their relationship, and eventually the challenges they face through high school and beyond.
