An official key visual for the upcoming second season of the TV anime “Mob Psycho 100” is revealed and it features 60 characters. The visual was revealed in this year’s Anime NYC at the Psycho Helmet Gathering along with an announcement of the season’s release date.
The new season is set to premiere on TOKYO MX and BS Fuji on January 7, 2019, followed by a showing on ABC TV two days later. Prior to this, there will be a world premiere screening held at Panel Room 1 in Anime NYC at 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on November 17.
“Mob Psycho 100” is an action comedy anime that premiered in July 2016 with Bones having produced the series. It ran for a total of 12 episodes before ending in September 2016. The story of “Mob Psycho 100” tells of an eighth-grader named Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama. Since he was young, he has a wellspring of psychic powers. However, as he grew, he discovered how dangerous his abilities could be and as such, suppressed his powers by locking away his emotions. Hoping to find a way to control his powers, Mob ends up under the wing of Arataka Reigen, a con artist claiming to be a psychic, who exploits Mob’s powers for pocket change.
While exorcizing spirits has become a part of his daily life, different events soon lead him to face different emotions and resulting in an explosive outburst of his abilities. And this is only the beginning of Mob’s journey towards controlling his immense abilities.
