For this summer’s “Cool Japan” event, it will be featuring globally famous heroes of anime and Japanese film and Universal Studios Japan has more to reveal on it.
Among the line-up for the event are “Sailor Moon”, “Godzilla”, “Evangelion”, and “Attack on Titan.” The returning favorite joining the ranks is “Detective Conan,” a franchise that has been featured at the park with USJ attractions and will now have upgraded experiences. Prior to this, it was announced that “Lupin III” was joining the event.
It was revealed at the time that there would be a Lupin III-themed VR ride and eatery. Initially, the eatery was described as an"entertainment restaurant" that would have a mix of comedy and “hard-boiled charm.” Now the restaurant is confirmed as “Lupin’s Ristorante Amore” and will be having a themed menu. With the VR ride, it is named “Lupin III Car Chase XR,” and will put park-goers in the passenger’s seat of the famous yellow Fiat as the Lupin Gang defies gravity to escape from Inspector Zenigata.
As for the Detective Conan World, there will be a three-attraction set consisting of a stage show and Real Escape Game, a mystery game suitable for parents and children to solve together. In addition, there will be a themed restaurant where park goers can order from a themed menu and watch a murder mystery unfold.
“Universal Cool Japan” is an event that has been going on since 2015. It is generally known as an event which features well-known entertainment brands ranging from manga/anime to games, music, and fashion with different sites and attractions. For this year, the event will be running from Friday, January 18 through Sunday, August 25, 2019. The longest celebration of the event yet in commemoration of its 5th anniversary.
Universal Studios Japan, which is located in Osaka, was established in March 2001 and had over 11 million visitors in its opening year. Other than the upcoming Cool Japan event, Universal Japan also has two special events coming up this year. There is the Universal Wonder Christmas from November 9, 2018 – January 6, 2019. Then on December 31st, there is the Universal Studios Japan Countdown Party.
