3 Anime to Watch and Have a Breather

As exciting as watching the fantastical works of anime is, there are certain times when one wants to take a break from all the high action adventures or deep tension drama. To simply watch something to pass the time or even have simple breather by watching something with no high flying action and instead something that leaves a happy sort of feeling. That is not to say though action based or fantastical anime doesn’t, but still, it is an enjoyable experience to a watch a simple and calm anime like the following.

Natsume Yuujinchou

At first glance Takashi Natsume would seem like any other high school boy, only he’s far from it. Ever since he was young Takashi has had the ability to see yokai (Japanese spirits/demon) everywhere he went. Throughout his childhood he struggled with this blessing/gift and the older he got the more persistent the yokai become. At the age of 15 he inherits from his grandmother Reiko what is known as the “Book of Friends”.

It is because of this item that yokai have grown more aggressive in their chase to retrieve their names from the book. while running away from one Takashi stumbles across a shrine where he inadvertently frees a yokai named Madara who then proclaims himself to be his bodyguard. Together the two face wayward and aggressive yokai seeking the return of their name and all the while Takashi tries to find balance inbetween the human world and the yokai world.

Flying Witch

In a place known as Aomori, Japan, bountiful natures grown in a quiet town where not much seems to happen. This all changes as 15-year-old Makato Kowata moves in with her family in the area and it is revealed that she is in fact, a professional witch. She along with her black cat Chito moved in from Yokohama so that she may begin her formal self-training into becoming a proper with seeing as she is currently only able to fly a broom.

Along with her second cousins Kei and Chinatsu she goes through each day learning something new and meeting all kinds of unique characters as she settles her life into Aomori.
Barakamon

A prodigy in the world of calligraphy and heeded by his peers as an up and coming figure, Seishuu Handa has dedicated his life to the world of calligraphy. However, when an esteemed veteran label his work as “textbook work” Seishuu loses himself and strikes the man. Because of this father, another esteemed figure in the world of calligraphy has exiled him to what is known as the Goto islands to undergo self-reflection.

When he arrives Seishuu soon encounters the quirkiness of the island people as though he wishes to be left alone it seems the people have other ideas, most especially an energetic young girl known as Naru. From juvenile middle schoolers, a laid back highschooler, boisterous children and nosy elderly, Seishuu doesn’t seem to catch a break. But it is because of these unique people that he has met that he soon realizes a new perspective to his art and how much he could develop from it and the people.
