And now it is officially confirmed: the long-shelved Hollywood live-action adaptation of classic anime movie Akira is set to go full steam ahead. Warner Bros. has announced that Thor: Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi is set to direct the long-overdue Akira.

It was announced on Toonami’s official Facebook page on Friday that they will be running Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin anime on Adult Swim’s Toonami block starting July 6. The anime is based from the manga of the same name created by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko.

It was revealed during the “Goblin Slayer Special Event: Guild Party 2019” event on Sunday that the Goblin Slayer franchise will it’s a theatrical anime episode slated to premiere in 9 theaters in Japan in 2020.
